The GenoBotanyLab is interested in the study of the plant domestication and evolution using a genomic approach. We work characterizing the genomic changes such as chromosomal reorganizations, polyploidy and hybridizations and modification in the gene space produced during the evolution of the plant species and how these changes are linked with phenotypic diversity, local adaptation, speciation and extinction. Our laboratory genus models are Begonia, Sinningia and Petunia, but we are also involved in a wide range of projects from other genus such as Nicotiana, Solanum, Olea, Cucurbita and Glycine.
